  19. ShopSmart's healthiest chicken salads from chain restaurants

I've been watching what I eat for several months now. My go-to meal on any menu is a salad with grilled chicken. What makes my ideal salad rise above the others?: fruit (usually apples or strawberries), onions (green, red, Vidalia – I'm not picky ), tomatoes (with me there is a fine line between the perfect amount and way too many) and something crunchy (usually almonds or pecans – not sugar-coated). Oh, and I ALWAYS get the dressing on the side. Eating a salad without dressing is a nightmare to me, however, it only takes a small amount of dressing to make me happy. REMEMBER: Sometimes the salad dressing is what takes a healthy salad and turns it into an unhealthy beast - so take control over how much is enough!
